Mancho Bibixy was arrested in January 2017 in Bamenda, following a Coffin revolution he staged on November 21, 2016 which fueled the Anglophone crisis. His coffin revolution caused the crisis to take another turn; from boycotts to street protests.
He was sentenced to 15 years in jail, in May 2018. He had spent 16 months in jail prior to his final judgement.
