"We came to tell the Prime Minister what those in the bush want. They are angry at the excessive centralization of the country's management. They want a federation of 10 states. It can help them grow their economy. Many people do not want the traditional leaders of the Southwest to speak. The Prime Minister and even the governor told us to speak out loud about people's suffering. Some people think that what we say will not always be what they think. But we are here in the case of an open dialogue" said chief Ekoka Molindo, the spokesperson for Fako's traditional chiefs.
In a recent letter to the South West Governor, the Fako Leaders' Conference stressed that the secessionist armed groups were ready to engage in dialogue with the Cameroonian government. The leaders reported that the "Ambazonian" fighters wanted to start by participating via a conference call or through the networks from their lair in the bush.
