Ecrans Noirs: the big event is planned for this July

The general delegate of this film festival was received in audience by Minister Bidoung Mkpatt on June 12 in Yaoundé.

His meeting with the Minister of Arts and Culture (Minac), Bidoung Mkpatt, on June 12, was a good occasion for Bassek ba Kobhio, to present the program of the 23rd edition of the festival "Ecrans Noirs". This big meeting of the cinema is planned as of July 13th. After several minutes of consultation with Minac, the Cameroonian filmmaker of international renown, also delegate general of Ecrans Noirs, did not hide his satisfaction to the press. "I was pleasantly surprised by the welcome.
The minister can count on artists and cultural organizers, and that is why I immediately joined the project of the Emerging City of Emergence, for which he asked me to be ambassador Cinema ", said Bassek ba Kobhio. He took the opportunity to express his gratitude for the constant support of the Head of State in accompanying Ecrans Noirs, and for the recognition of public utility.

It should also be noted that the preparations for the 23rd edition of "Ecrans Noirs" are well under way. "In a few days, there will be the official selection of Cameroonian and international films to be published. We will have a film market with the 11 countries of Africa, an international conference that will address the issues of film creation, and a good selection of African actors to celebrate, "said the cultural promoter.

The question related to the organization of filmmakers in Cameroon was also on the menu of this interview with Minac. Beyond all the associations that exist in the country, it would be good, according to Bassek ba Kobhio, to set up a federation of filmmakers. "In terms of artistic creation, we have ideas with the support of the State so that in the coming months, the Cameroonian cinema that is already respected in Africa, is the best," he concluded. Ecrans Noirs  are expected as the cultural "must go" of the month of July.
