    CAF threatens to sanction FECAFOOT!

This year, Cameroon will be represented at the CAF Confederations Cup by one team instead of two. The team is New stars Douala, which ranked 3rd at the end of the last championship's first division.

The other qualifier was supposed to be known after the finals of the 59th Cameroon Cup between Eding sport Lekie and Lion Blessé Fotouni.

It has been three months since the two teams qualified and have been waiting for the date of the finals to be decided upon by the Civil Office of the Presidency of the Republic.

Meanwhile, the CAF had given until October 15, 2018 for teams to file applications for licenses. The deadline has passed, and since the Cameroon Cup Finals has not been played, due to a delay from the presidency, the other Cameroonian ambassador/team could not file for their application licence within the deadline set by CAF.

So because of that, the matches that had been programmed for the team that was supposed to qualify for that position have been cancelled, and the team they were supposed to play against; Asante Kotoko of Ghana, has automatically qualified for the next round. See tweet made by CAF:

This is indeed a huge blow to Cameroonian football and FECAFOOT who are now under the threat of a heavy sanction from the CAF.

It is also a big disappointment for the two teams that qualified for the Cameroon Cup Finals; Eding sport of Lekié and Lion Blessé Foutouni, who thought for a moment that they might be chanced to represent Cameroon at the CAF Confederations Cup.

Meanwhile, President Paul Biya has made a promise to give 20 Million frs to the winner of the Cameroon Cup.
