Pro-Ambazonia Fighters say Elections will not take place; ELECAM reacts!

    Chairman of ELECAM
ELECAM plans to reduce polling stations in Cameroon's North West and South West Regions.

The Chairman of the Electoral Board of Elections Cameroon (ELECAM) has revealed that the number of polling stations in Anglophone regions of Cameroon will be reduced and transformed into polling centres.

In Belo for instance, counting over 50 polling stations, Enow Abrams Egbe has revealed that only two polling centres will be present.

A similar will be taken in Batibo where scores of polling stations will be dissolved to create one polling centre.

The move according to ELECAM officials seeks to maximise the security of voters as the Anglophone crisis escalates.

But SDF officials have rejected the move, qualifying it as illegal.

The members of the opposition party say it is against the electoral code and will downplay the party's chances of getting more votes from it's supporters who hail from the two English speaking regions.

ELECAM officials responded by saying politicians should do their job and urge voters from the bushes to come out and take part in the election.

During the meeting in Bamenda on Friday, Election Cameroons said the October 7 presidential elections in Cameroon will take place in the Anglophone Regions and that all measures will be put in place to ensure that the process is hitch free.

Pro-Independence fighters have maintained that elections will not take place in the English Speaking regions of the country.
