Military fights Amba Boys in Njinikom, 2 Civilians shot dead in Muyuka. Read full details:

The night was a long one and, most probably, even bloody for the people of Njinikom. Throughout last night, a fierce battle raged between Government and Ambazonia forces.

The Njinikom Squares was smoking with heavy gun fire as residents had scampered afar for safety.

The battle started long in the day when Amba fighers blocked the road leading to Fundong. Government forces are said to have launched an incursion to remove the blockage. There was a lull after this. Then, yesterday evening, the fighting erupted again.

On and off skirmishes or confrontations between these two forces in Njinikom, Belo and Fundong, for a long time now, has become the new normal.

Over a week ago, the Parish Priest of the St Anthony Parish, Father Jude Tarh was shot on the leg by a stray bullet. He is still receiving treatment in Bamenda. This incident comes just over a week following the tragic death of Father Nougi Alexander Sob in Muyuka.

And as the guns rage on, that is just how we shall continue to count the deaths, the maimed, houses razed, those kidnapped, those tortured, businesses lost or grounded, the day by day numbers that are forced away from their abodes to begin a life of wondering peons in the name of 'internally displaced.'

There are many others who are just rounded off and janged into detention centers.

In Muyuka at least 2 civilians were shot dead following a fierce gunfight between security forces and pro-independence fighters.

Several families reportedly perished after the military invaded the Teke Bakundu community in Meme Division SWR. The population is still in grief.

Meanwhile, as Widikum continues to boil many houses have been set ablaze and civilians shot dead. The area is gradually being deserted.
