    Nigerian billionaire Dangote in search of a new wife

    Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, has revealed that at 61, he is not getting any younger and is willing to take a new wife.

    Speaking with David Piling in a Financial Times interview, Lunch with FT monitored by TheCable, the multi-billionaire, also talked about his busy schedules, ambition to buy Arsenal Football club and his huge $12 billion refinery, which he said once completed, will make Nigeria, Africa’s biggest exporter of petroleum products.

    On the need for a new wife, the founder of Dangote Group, who is twice divorced and has three daughters, revealed that his schedule is inhibiting romance, adding that he is on the lookout for a new bride.

    “I’m not getting younger. Sixty years is no joke. But it doesn’t make sense to go out and get somebody if you don’t have the time. Right now, things are really, really very busy, because we have the refinery, we have the petrochemicals, we have the fertiliser, and we have the gas pipeline.”

    The Africa’s richest man also told Pilling that he tries to fast at least once a week, adding that, “it helps to clean your system”.

    He said his busy schedule sees him take over 100 calls per day.
    On Arsenal, Dangote declared:

    “I love Arsenal and I will definitely go for it,” he told FT, adding that the club should be worth about $2bn.”
