Anglophone crisis: Patrick Ekema set to convene Bakweri forum

The Mayor of Buea Municipality, Patrick Ekema Esunge has summoned all sons and daughters of the Bakweri clan for a forum on Sunday 29 July 2018 at the council premises, a statement from the council confirms.

The statement did not disclose the agenda of the forum, but sources say it is largely in connection to the Anglophone crisis.

The city of Buea is amongst a series of towns in the North West and South West regions of Cameroon, which has suffered severe human and material loss as a result of the Anglophone crisis.

The unrest has crippled economic activities within the municipality, causing many inhabitants to flee the town.

Mayor Ekema in recent days has been sealing shops of business operators who respect calls for ghost towns every Monday.

The Mayor has equally slammed Fako elites for taking refuge in Douala and Yaounde and abandoning him to deal with the crisis in Buea.
