Amba Boys release abducted Fako Chiefs, Mayor Ekema grants clemency to sealed businesses. Read Details:

Amba Boys released the 7 abducted Fako chiefs on the night of Monday July 30th.

This happened after Buea Mayor; Ekema Patrick, held a meeting with Bakweri indigenes on Sunday indulging them to participate in a protest march for the detained Fako Chiefs.

It is also worthy to note that this is coming after the Paramount Chief of Buea planned to deal with the Amba Boys for indulging in the sacrilegious act of abducting traditional rulers, especially after one of them died in their custody. Read all about it HERE.

According to a video circulated on social media, in which one of the abducted chiefs was addresing the population, he said the Amba Boys abducted them in order to investigate them. He said they were being well treated, and it was unfortunate that one of them passed. Watch video:

This evening of Tuesday July 31st, Mayor Ekema has issued a statement saying he has granted clemency to all the businesses that were sealed last week Monday for respecting Ghost Towns and staying closed. He had earlier sealed nearly all businesses in Buea including Banks and pharmacies last Monday because contrary to his orders, they respected Ghost Towns and closed their shops on Monday.

Mayor Ekema says this decision to grant clemency to those businesses and authorise them to break off the seal and open their businesses is coming because the bakweri community corporated with him and participated in a successful march and also because the abducted Fako Chiefs have been released.
