Amba Boys stormed Limbe; South West Region, on Saturday July 14th, a city which has been out of reach since the beginning of the crisis.

According to sources, around 4 pm on Saturday, July 14, 2018, individuals armed with rifles(Amba Boys) in a moving vehicle barred the way to a truck of the Société anonyme des Brasseries du Cameroun (SABC), carrying drinks, at Mile 4, at the entrance of the city.

The attackers ordered the driver to get off the truck before setting the vehicle on fire. They then fled towards the interior of the city. The police, alerted, immediately opened fire.

The entrance to the town of Limbe(Mile 4) was blocked during the exchange of fire, probably to try to intercept the Amba Boys, in case they took the same path back.

Acording to reports, two Amba Boys were killed, while the rest fled into the city, meanwhile no loss of life was recorded from the men in uniform or the civilian population.

The tense situation that prevailed forced the inhabitants to hide in their homes on Saturday. Shopkeepers closed their shops.

Calm returned Sunday morning July 15, 2018 in Limbe.

This is the first time that Limbe has experienced secessionist attacks since the beginning of the armed conflicts related to the Anglophone crisis more than a year ago.
