Buea Mayor; Ekema Patrick, risks 3 years imprisonment!

For some months now, the mayor of Buea; Ekema Patrick Esunge, has been making news on the internet for using fraud to have his Bachelor's Degree.

According to investigations, he failed the GCE Advanced Levels, after writing 7 times, from 1995 - 2007.

He gave up in 2007, after passing 1 subject in 1996 with an E grade. The subject was History.

He then faked an Advance Level certificate, got into the University of Buea, had a 1st Degree in History in the year 2000, then proceeded to do his Master's, and emerged with a Master's Degree in the same History.

On the 6th of April, under the supervision of the new Vice Chancellor of the University of Buea, the certificates of Mayor Ekema Patrick and another, were withdrawn for fraud.

During the session where the decision was made, it was revealed that even before Ekema's 'enemies' brought the news to social media, the University of Buea had discretely earmarked that the credibility of his Advance Level certificate was not founded and it was just a matter of time before he dealt with the consequences.

According to the rules and regulations governing state examinations, whoever commits fraud with intent to procure a degree shall be punished with imprisonment from 1 month to 3 years, and or a fine from 25,000frs to 2 million FRS.

At this point we are not sure of Ekema's fate, stay tuned for updates.
