    Clémentine Meukeugni Noumbissi wins first medal for Cameroon during commonwealth games!

    Clémentine Meukeugni Noumbissi wins the first prize for Cameroon during the Commonwealth games as she wins a bronze medal in Weightlifting in the 90kg category.

    She was awarded a bronze medal on the 9th of April at the Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia.

    At the age of 27, the Cameroonian professional broke her own record.

    She obtained 95kg and 98 kg respectively during her first two tests, before succeeding the final stretch of 101kg which gave her the winning spot.

    Eileen Cikamaana of Fiji Islands took the gold medal after lifting 233kg in total.

    She was followed by Australia's Kaity Fassina , who won a silver medal after lifting 232 kg in total.

    The first Cameroonian medal should boost the morale of other athletes, including boxers; Ndiang Christelle and Arsene Fokou, who are preparing for the quarterfinals to be held today, Tuesday, April 10, 2018.

    Meanwhile a Cameroonian boxer; Ndzie Tchoyi is no where to be found. His disappearance was reported this morning to the Australian police, by the Cameroonian delegation.

    The Commonwealth Games end on Sunday, April 15.
