    International Civil Aviation Organization denounces rumours that they ordered the shut down of the Douala Airport!

    Days ago we published an article stating that the International Civil Aviation Organization had ordered the Airport of Douala to be shut down after conducting an audit following complaints from over 15 Airline companies that the state of the airport was deplorable. Read full story HERE.

    The source of this information was an article published by American News Company; bloomberg.com. They even mentioned the managing director of the Airport Authority, Mr Thomas Owona Assoumou said:

    “We have forwarded the ICAO order to the government and precisely the Ministry of Transport, under whose authority the airport is operated,”

    The communication personnel of the International Civil Aviation Organization(ICAO) reacted to the article we published on our Twitter feed, stating that the ICAO had not made any such order.

    The committee of Airports in Cameroon also released a statement debunking the claims. They mentioned that the audit is scheduled for the 18th to 27th of April.
