    A review of the deplorable conditions under which Anglophone Cameroon refugees live in Nigeria

    Cameroonian refugees in Abande, Adikpo LGA, Benue State, Nigeria are living under undesirable conditions.

    They are lodging in a school compound, one that has now been turned into a communal shelter.

    The United Nations Refugees Representative in Nigeria visited Benue and Cross River states to assess the situation and needs of the Cameroonian refugees.

    Some stories of the Cameroonian refugees in Nigeria as curated by Elizabeth Mpimbaza:

     Regina is a grandmother who fled southern Cameroon when the army came to her village.  I will go back to my home when the war finishes she tells UNHCR.

    He left his home in Yive village in  southern Cameroon because of fear.  He tells UNHCR Nigeria that he is thankful for the host community in Amana village, Obanlinku, Cross River state.  'The host community has embraced us and help us"

    "I lost everything but one day I hope to return to my village where I can be with all my family again" Cecila  hopes that she will be reunited with her family when the conflict ends in southern Cameroon.
