    74 cases recorded as Monkeypox spreads to 11 Nigeria states

    At least 74 cases of Monkeypox have been recorded in Nigeria as the virus spreads to 11 states reports say.

    The country’s Minister of Health Prof. Isaac Adewole on Wednesday in Abuja disclosed that the affected States include; Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Cross River, Delta, Ekiti, Enugu, Imo, Lagos, Nasarawa and Rivers as well as the FCT.

    The health minister dismissed claims that the military is behind the spread of the Monkey Pox virus through vaccination.

    He reiterated that the military was never involved in any vaccination in the country, adding that any vaccination must involve state governments and the Federal Ministry of Health.
