    South West governor impose 4 days travel ban within the region

    The governor of the South West region Bernard Okalia Bilai, has prohibited the movement of persons or any public gathering throughout the South West region from 9 P.m. on Friday, 29 September to 7 a.m. Monday, October 2017.

    According to a press release signed by the governor and made public on Thursday 28 September 2017, the move aims at prohibiting public disorder.

    His decision comes at a time when citizens of the South West and North West regions are planning a peaceful march on October 1st 2017, to demand for amongst other things, the release of all those arrested and still detained since the outbreak of the Anglophone crisis, immediate independence of Anglophone Cameroon form La republic du Cameroon, or at the least Federalism.

    Governor Bilai’s travel ban also includes;

     -The total prohibition of the movement of commercial Moto-bykes. 

    -The prohibition of the movement of persons and suspension of inter-urban transport between the different towns and localities.

    - The closure of our territorial and maritime borders 

    -The total closure of all off-licences, bars, snack-bars and night clubs 

    - The prohibition of any public gatherings and assembly of more than four persons in any public location.

    - The suspension of all activities at Moto-parks, sea or river ports and wharfs.

    The released also ordered the Senior Divisional Officers and the heads of defense and Security Forces to take charge of the strict implementation of these measures.
