South African born comedian Trevor Noah has been nominated for the Thurber Prize for American Humour. Trevor Noah's memoir Born a Crime” put him on the list as it was among three finalists. Trevor is competing for the prize alongside playwright-screenwriter Ken Pisani’s novel “Amp’d” and Aaron Thier’s time traveling novel “Mr. Eternity.”
The Thurber Prize for American Humor is a cash prize for the art of humor writing in the United States. A panel of American judges selects the three finalists from a selection of seven or eight semi-finalists. Apparently, Trevor’s memoir has eyes on the prize as it has reached the final selection stage.
