The Harmattan season is already unto us in Cameroon!
The Harmattan is a season in the West African subcontinent, which occurs between the end of November and the middle of March.
In Cameroon we usually experience it between January and March.
It is characterized by dry and dusty wind which blows from the Sahara Desert over West Africa into the Gulf of Guinea.
Dwellers in Douala and Yaoundé started experiencing it yesterday, prominently in Yaoundé. Yesterday, 23rd January 2017, classes were disrupted in Lycee bilingue d Étoug-ébé, Yaoundé, over the violent Harmattan winds that blew across. see video below, which was taken by an anonymous person at the scene:
